Eclecticism. Evolution. Education.

Three intertwining principles that form the foundation of the career of Brianna Price. A journey that has seen her relocate from British Columbia, Canada to London, England; start ‘In Toto’, her newly-found record label; become an established and respected radio broadcaster for BBC Radio 1 through which she vehemently champions cutting edge underground electronic music; cement her reputation as a trusted selector at countless leading music events; become an advocate for drug education and most recently also nightlife preservation within her adopted home. Underpinning all these achievements is Brianna’s passion for sounds from across the musical spectrum, and her now well documented rampant eclecticism.

Perhaps the biggest indicator of her sonic evolution has been through her work with BBC Radio 1. Having started out with a monthly “In New DJs We Trust” slot in 2012, Brianna has since then proven to be a key broadcaster for the public station – followed by her most recent position as part of the foundations of the legendary Friday night line-up, bridging the gap between Pete Tong and the Essential Mix from 1-4am on Friday nights.

Brianna utilizes her influential position to full effect by tackling pressing issues like the need for widely accessible drug safety information, as well as fighting passionately for a rich and progressive club scene in the UK. In 2016 she has been deeply involved with the first front-of-house drug testing facility, The Loop, at Secret Garden Festival as well as voiced her concern on the future of fabric at it’s hearing.

A significant next step in her continuous path to become one of the most illustrious artists in her field is the start of her own record label: In Toto. A desire for complete artistic freedom and a boundless musical direction lie at the heart of Brianna’s decision to open her own imprint, which will see releases ranging from house to techno to electronica, and everything in between. Of her new label, B. Traits has said: “It will be a vehicle for me to put out my own and other artists’ music on both vinyl and digital format. Music that I make, music that I love and music that I wish to share with you.”

Brianna herself has had the honour of kicking off In Toto with its debut release in the form of striking two-tracker Still Point EP, which dropped on October 7th. Her first record in four years – both tracks a plentiful palette of influences and styles distinctive of the young producer – Still Point EP signals nothing less than a lush future for the In Toto imprint. Fans, however, can expect the label to take shape in more than releases alone, like side projects that will dive into Brianna’s musical upbringing and influences, or the possibility to witness In Toto’s future contributors in a live setting.

A skilled producer, DJ and presenter. You should certainly expect the unexpected where B.Traits is concerned – but if there’s something you can predict, it’s that whatever comes next will be unique, and it will be big.
