3D printing technology is now approaching maturity and a huge range of printers are entering the market from desktop hobby style to full production capable machines. The range of applications for 3D printers is rapidly expanding alongside the available technology and material choices. As more and more people become aware of what the technology can afford, the implication for anyone who makes is that 3D printing is another tool in the box.

Digital Makers Café: 11am-12.30pm
This 3D print café will begin with a talk outlining the current state of 3D printing technology and their range of applications across the creative industries. We will discuss the current types of processes available to makers, take an in depth look at the material choices that come with the various technologies, and present some of the more interesting applications of 3D printers alongside other methods and processes of making.

Digital Makers Symposium: 12.30pm-1pm
Following the talk we will invite an open discussion about the technology, what 3D printers will mean for creative practitioners and anything else 3D print related in a Q&A session.

Hands-on Workshop: 1.30pm-3.30pm
In the afternoon we will host a 3D print up-cycling workshop where there will be the opportunity to get to grips with the technology using our desktop printers.
