Rhythmneel is a six-piece Celtic/rock band based in the Highlands of Scotland for over a decade. They’re in high demand for music festivals & venues, marquee gigs, street parties, Highland Games/Gala Dances, corporate functions and other similar events   throughout Scotland and overseas; particularly Holland & Germany

The band’s set-list for larger events such as festivals and overseas gigs, is Celtic rock- based (usually with a contemporary rock twist), including our own arrangements of traditional Scottish tunes led by pipes, fiddle and accordion.

At other events we throw in a clutch of classic celtic, folk & rock tunes for good measure.

The band is in the unique situation of having three fantastic fiddle players who share duties between them at the various gigs. Debbie Ross has played with the band for a number of years and is responsible along with Catriona on pipes for putting together most of the celtic rock arrangements the band play and record. Paul Dzialdowski is a veteran and stalwart of the Feis movement and folk scene in the North of Scotland, and last but not least is Gillian Stevenson who has played in some of the country’s best ceilidh bands over the past 20 years. They come up with many of our traditional Scottish tunes.

In early 2007 the band were delighted to be joined by Donnie Mackillop on drums, having played with a number of well known ceilidh and rock bands around the country and overseas over the previous 25 years.  In early 2010 our latest recruit was Jim Kennedy on lead vocals and accoustic guitar.  Following a rock music upbringing in Glasgow, Jim discovered traditional and ceilidh music on moving North to the Highlands a few years ago with influences ranging from Dougie Maclean to Paulo Nutini.
