‘Holding Out for Freedom’! Coming out of Lockdown! Following well over a year of difficult times and uncertainty, and the summer months ahead, it’s time to celebrate reclaiming the freedom’s that we once took for granted, Time to kick start the party again with Folk Rockers “Rhythmnreel”. Their new single “Holding Out for Freedom” from forthcoming album of the same title, is an upbeat foot stomper driven by thumping Bass, drums & guitars, embellished with fiddle’s, whistles, enveloped in the warm tones of the saxophone with a melodic chorus that once inside your ears won’t leave you even in your deepest slumber… From the opening bars of the slide guitar to the closing rundown of the electric fiddle, you’ll be on your feet with the rhythm of the sound of the Highlands fast on your tail

The single and video for ‘Holding out for Freedom’ is set to be released on Friday 25th June 2021, with the album of the same name released on Friday 16th July 2021. The album will include a mix of original song compositions and Celtic Rock sets including the singles ‘Lonely Mountain Road’ released in April 2020 and our version of ‘The Dark Island’ in December 2020.  The band are delighted to have the opportunity to officially release the album with a live performance at The Ironworks.  The set will include all the tunes from the album along with a selection of other favourites from the live set.

Singer/songwriter and guitarist Davy Cowan and his son Sam on drums joined the band in early 2020.  Davy, long-time friend of the band was also a past collaborator with fiddle player Debbie Ross in the 90’s East Ross based folk rock band ‘Coinneach’ before moving on to a successful solo career recording and touring throughout the UK and Europe.  The band have been recording the album as circumstances have allowed during the period since Spring 2020 whilst live performances have been curtailed and can’t wait to play to a live audience again.

The videos for all the singles were filmed and produced by Gordon Buchanan of Struie Media Productions  https://www.struiemediapro.co.uk/.
