STATEMENT FROM TRAIL WEST:
INVERNESS & OBAN – POSTPONED (RESCHEDULED DATES TBA THIS WEEKEND)
We’re really disappointed to announce that we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s shows in Inverness and Oban.
After some initially positive discussions through the week and with the encouragement that other similar events were still taking place, we had hoped to continue with the shows, as you are all aware.
But, with further discussions this morning, we have been put in a terribly difficult situation by the Government: the latest guidelines regarding social distancing and bottle necks at bars have forced our hand and it is with heavy hearts that we are postponing these shows.
We rely on music for a living and the financial implications for us are severe. But, ultimately, the risk to the health and well-being of all our followers, crew and the venue staff is of the upmost importance.
Rescheduled dates will be announced this weekend but for those still in the mood for a party, we’ve heard a rumour that there’s a horo-gheallaidh at No. 10, Downing Street this evening… Cheese and Wine anyone?!
Thanks in advance for your understanding and we’ll hopefully see you all at a gig very soon!

Trail West are a band leading the thriving scene of Gaels in the city of Glasgow.
Hot off the heels of a SOLD OUT 11th Anniversary show in the iconic Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, Trail West hit the road north and return to Inverness’ famous Ironworks. Trail West are delighted to be back in the Highland Capital for what is set to be their most exciting Inverness show yet!
Having started out as a four-piece line-up with strong links to the Hebridean Isles of Tiree and South Uist, Trail West now perform as a six-piece outfit with the addition of Jonathan Gillespie from Glasgow on keyboard and vocals along with Allan J. Nairn from Ardnamurchan on electric guitar.
To date they have released four albums, showing the band’s progression with a wide selection of songs becoming an integral part of their repertoire alongside the recognisable accordion and whistle combination of Seonaidh MacIntyre and Ian Smith.
